Notice: Informal Meeting of the Ministers of Justice
On Thursday 7 July an informal meeting will be held in Bratislava between justice ministers of the Eastern Partnership Countries and the respective representatives of the EU institutions. The Council of the European Union will be represented by the Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Justice of the Slovak Republic, Ms Lucia Žitňanská, who will chair the meeting. The ministers will discuss anti-corruption policy. They will focus on the fight against money laundering, transparency and the independence of the judiciary.
On Friday 8 July there will be an informal meeting of justice ministers of all 28 EU Member states. The meeting will be chaired by the Minister for Justice of the Slovak Republic, Ms Lucia Žitňanská. The topics for discussion are as follows: the proposal for the European Public Prosecutor´s Office, e-justice with special regard to the use of electronic communication in cross-border cases and cybercrime – encryption and the fight against crime.
A press conference will be held after the close of the meeting at 14.45 on Friday 8 July in the Press centre located in Reduta on Eugen Suchoň Square 1, Bratislava. The Minister for Justice of the Slovak Republic, Ms Lucia Žitňanská, and the Commissioner for Justice, Consumers and Gender Equality, Ms Věra Jourová, will take part in the press conference.
