Notice: Agriculture and Fisheries Council to discuss fishing opportunities in Baltic
The meeting will kick-off with a preliminary exchange of views on the Commission proposal fixing the 2017 fishing opportunities in the Baltic sea with the aim to reach a political agreement in the evening.
Ministers will hold an exchange of views on the EU-Norway annual consultations for 2017 and the annual meeting of the International Commission for the Conservation of Atlantic Tunas (ICCAT), which will take place on 14-21 November 2016 in Portugal.
The Commission will present its so-called Omnibus regulation proposal, notably as far as its agricultural elements are concerned followed by an exchange of views.
Ministers will debate various any other business items, including:

on the market situation, the sugar and pigmeat sectors requested by the Presidency,

on the greening of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) requested by a number of delegations,
-
on animal welfare and international financial institutions requested by Austria.

on the legislative follow-up to the Court of Justice judgement in Case C-113/14 regarding reference prices requested by the Commission;
-
on the ministerial conference “The consumers have the right to be informed” requested by Slovenia
